GitLab blocked my IP address. Possibly caused by "git lfs locks"

I was browsing issues on one of my repositiories when I suddenly got a simple “Forbidden” message and nothing else. I can continue to use GitLab on my phone over the cellular network, but I get the same message when on WiFi.

I’m not sure if it was something I did or if there could be some foreign activity on my network or whatever else. I’d like to be able to identify the root of the cause and prevent it from happening again.

How do I find out why this has happened? Who can I contact?

OK, it seems running git lfs locks does this. I got unblocked after an hour and continued my work, and as soon as i ran git lfs locks: 403.

What’s going on here? This used to work.

I changed my password, but forgot to change it in my git client. It’s weird though how eager GitLab is to block IP addresses. It only took, like, 2 failed authentications.
