Hi Guys,
I am trying to understand if there is any difference between Gitlab CE or Gitlab Free license.
I understand Gitlab Free is a better way to upgrade to premium or ultimate at a later date like no down time required etc.
My queries are

  1. Are there any differences in features between Gitlab CE and Gitlab EE Free Tier?
  2. Is Gitlab EE Free approved for commercial use?
  3. Do I still have to manage the license key yearly even with Gitlab EE.

Hi, in terms of functionality, no it is just the same. The only difference, it allows you to apply a license when you want to purchase EE functionality. You don’t need to apply any license yearly when it’s the free EE version.

Gitlab CE and EE can be used for commercial use.
