Gitlab says I'm currently using the free plan although non-free features are available

I’ve found gitlab’s subscription process a bit confusing since the beginning. Right now, when I go to the Billing page I see the following notification

As you can see, it says I’m on the free plan and it offers me to try the Gold plan for 30 days.

But I already have lots of non-Free features. For example, Merge Request Approvals.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Hi @mikayil.abdullayev, welcome to the GitLab Community forum!

Great question!

Public projects on GitLab.com get access to all the Gold features free of charge.

Private projects on GitLab.com only get access to the free/core features.
For private projects to use Gold features, the user/group must either have a paid subscription or free trial.
Do you see the non-free features available for your private projects?

Yes, I do. In fact all of my projects are private

Hi @mikayil.abdullayev, I asked about this internally and I believe I found the reason for the confusion here.

It appears you’re part of a group with a Gold GitLab.com subscription. Any projects (public or private) created under the group namespace will get GitLab Gold features.

Private projects created in your personal namespace will not get access to free Gold features. I believe this is why you see the “Free Trial” offer on your personal namespace, but not on your group pages.

Let me know if you have any additional questions!

Yes, you were absolutely right. All my projects are under the root group which has a Gold Plan Subscription. My personal space has not one. Thank you for that.
