Service accounts (GitLab 16.1 ff.)

Hi,

as of GitLab 16.1 there is the concept of so called service accounts. A few questions come to mind:

  • I do not see a predefined role, so am I able to promote and demote this very service account, e.g. may I choose to give it Maintainer or Developer rights in the group or only specific projects etc?
  • Are these service accounts bots and thereby do not count into the number of billable users?
  • Am I able to give a service account created for group A a role in group B?

I’d like some info if someone tried it as well. Since there is no “Delete” Service Account I am not in a hurry to try it out :smiley:
