Hello GitLab Community,
I’m reaching out to seek assistance with an issue I’m facing while trying to access my GitLab account. I created my account years ago at the time Microsoft had just bought Github, the big move over and using the GitHub login option, at a time when two-factor authentication (2FA) was not yet available on GitLab.
Recently, I tried to log in to my GitLab account, but I’m being prompted for 2FA, which I never set up. I also do not have any recovery codes. It seems I’m locked out of my account although oddly it did let me perform a password change and emailed me a password reset link. I did try and login using the new reset password but of course, same roadblock 2FA.
I’d appreciate any guidance or assistance on how I can regain access to my account under these circumstances. Any help from the community or GitLab support would be greatly appreciated!
Creating a new account with a new email is possible of course, but I’d like to give this route a try before cluttering up a system with dead accounts.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Best regards,
