Cannot create GitLab group even though it does not exist!

Hello everyone,

I want to create a GitLab Group for my project, but when I go to this page and enter the name I want, it says:
Group path is unavailable. Path has been replaced with a suggested available path.

The link (https://gitlab.com/enter-the-group-name-I-want) spits out a Page Not Found 404 error, so it seems that the name I want is not taken. Is there anyway I can have support regarding this? I can mention the name I am looking for in further replies. Thank you!

Hi @rez

I think you’d probably have to raise a support ticket for something like that. It’s a bit specific and I’d guess you will need a GitLab employee to deal with it.

Hello and thank you. How would I create a support ticket? I’d appreciate if you can assist (I am using free GitLab)

Thank you!

Hi @rez

You can go here and choose the relevant option from the drop-down.

If you are on the free tier, and Support say they cannot help you, then you can always raise an issue in the GitLab repo, but I don’t think we can help you on the forum, because I don’t think this is something you can fix yourself.
