Delete file attached to issue

I have an open source project on gitlab.com where users file issues. A user filed an issue and attached a file with sensitive information and has asked me to remove it. I removed the reference by editing the issue description, but I expect the file still exists and anyone with the URL (such as people working at Gitlab or anyone who has made a copy of its URL) could still access the file.

Is there anything else I can do to protect this user’s privacy?

Hi! Thanks for reaching out! There’s an open issue related to your question.

You can’t delete attached files if some of them were uploaded by mistake - It’s better to use the issue tracker for a feature request. Hope it’s helpful :slightly_smiling_face:.

Thank you for digging this thread up and responding. I tried to find it and failed :). I’ll follow up in the issue.
