Hi, I work with the Fedora project and we are part of GitLab’s open source program. A concern about the new as of Sept 22 data retention policy change for free gitlab accounts was raised to me:

Does this impact GitLab for open source repos?

Hey @mairin! :wave: Great to see you here.

Because Fedora’s projects are part of the GitLab for Open Source Program, they’ll be unaffected by those data retention policy changes. Your program membership means you’re not using the Free tier, to which those change apply.

Just one more note, too: The Register also published a follow-up piece outlining the current state of the policy.
