We are preparing to update our Gitlab server to v14. We previously configured repository storage as
git_data_dirs({ “default” => { “path” => “/home/git-data” } })
Do we need to be concerned that the ‘path’ method is scheduled to be removed in Gitlab 14.0?

We have the same query.
Most of the documentation seem to describe Gitaly Cluster setup. There should also be a simpler documentation/ procedure provided for smaller Omnibus single-node setup (with a single Gitaly node running on the same server) on how to switch from ‘path’ to ‘gitaly_address’.
Hi,
I’ve forwarded the question to our teams, and asked in this issue to clarify on the removal path forward.
Forgot to post the response.
Cheers,
Michael

Hi Michael,
I have been regularly following the updates on the ticket - but there is still no clarity on the action to be taken for Omnibus installation. The changes were expected to be released as part of 14.3 which is already out. Even though the comments on the ticket mentions a couple of merge requests to the documentation, they still seem to say the same thing (path is deprecated and should be replaced with Gitaly address).
Hope we will get the answer soon - it has been more than 3 months since the query was raised.
Thanks,
Hi @HemanthD,
can you please raise your concern directly in the issue, and discuss possible actions and needed clarifications.
Kind regards,
Michael
