We know how it feels: someone provided a clear solution to your question and you think to yourself, “Wow. communities are awesome.” Is there anything better?!
Only you—the asker of the question, the needer of a solution—have the power to utilize the solution checkbox. This makes it so that others in the future, who are searching for a similar answer, have a clear indicator of what topics have a solution in the thread.
Help keep our community forum as up to date, and as tidy, as possible by checking that solution checkbox whenever possible.
Using the Solution Checkbox
Ways in Which the Solution Checkbox is Awesome
Visual Component
Not only is it nice for future forum surfers to see when a thread has an accepted answer from the original poster, it also helps with search.
In the search bar, and the results that follow, all topics that have an accepted solution from the original poster will show up. That way, your fellow community users can narrow in on their research materials.
Lets the Solution-Giver Know They Helped
Put yourself in the shoes of the rockstar that just took time out of their busy day to help you out. Don’t leave them hanging: they’re going to want to know if (and how) their potential information did (or didn’t) help you out!
Earns Badges
If yours is the first accepted solution in a thread, you will earn your Solution-eer badge! (I am open to suggestions on the name of this badge. )
The more you answer, like, link, etc. the more badges you can earn on this platform. So no matter whether you are asking the question or providing the solution, there are badges to be had! Go earn yours!
Happy Solution-ing! Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for making our forum great!
