I have tried to execute this payment with my corporate AmEx card and also with my private MasterCard, and none works. It looks to me like a bug on GitLab LevelUp’s end.
Could you please support me with this, so that I can enroll on the course and certification exam?
I got told that “GitLab is in the process of moving to a new Learning Management System. As a result our e-commerce functionality is not fully functioning yet and will be live in another 6-8 weeks.” This was communicated to me at the start of Nov 2022, so I assume (and hope) it will be live in Jan 2023.
I created another ticket on GitLab Support, complaining about this, and I obtained the same answer as before:
Thank you for reaching out!
Thanks for your questions and feedback. GitLab is in the process of moving to a new Learning Management System. As a result our e-commerce functionality is not fully functioning yet and will be live in another 6-8 weeks.
We apologize for any delays this may cause you and will update all customers when it is live again!
It looks like GitLab is not prioritizing this, let’s cross fingers that it will ever be live again…
Same here, got similar reply in the middle of Dec’22:

Asked them week ago once again and still no answer.
Sounds like they’re not quite interested in this?
I have the same issue when I tried to sign up for the CI/CD associate certification on LevelUp on Feb 23rd, a full 3 months after the issue was first reported.
I guess these certifications are not a priority for Gitlab!
Ridiculous.
By the way, does anyone have any coupons for this $500 course? There are no courses on Udemy related to the CI/CD certification exam or the DevOps certification exam. The DevOps course on Gitlab is $2,000!
Actually there’s one course with exam from IBM on Coursera, if you make it within one week from start - it’s free, or after one week you have to pay 35$/monthly subscription.
The scope there is covering some general CI/CD concepts and from the implementation side they having tests and learning materials about GitHub Actions and Tekton(cloud native CI/CD solution based on k8s CRDs)
Thanks for your interest in GitLab training and certification. We are getting closer to enabling purchasing certifications on our LevelUp platform. It is taking longer than expected due to team bandwidth.
More updates will be provided at the end of FY24Q1 (end of April 2023).
How about making the course available now while holding back on the certification exams until April? I would most likely need a couple of weeks to prepare for the CI/CD certification and having to wait till the end of April is not ideal.
Thanks for asking. Somehow your thoughts, and the GitLab education services team thoughts are tied together, independently Thanks to @nshah19 for sharing this update with me about a soft launch starting today.
Anyone who wishes to learn GitLab can enroll in the GitLab free self-paced training on LevelUp.
Is there anything new about this error? I am getting: “Error: Either eCommerce is not enabled on this school, or a firewall or browser addon has prevented our eCommerce provider from loading” when trying to purchase GitLab Certified Git Associate Exam.
I’ve tried in Firefox and Safari, on different internet connections, with and without addons, etc. @dnsmichi
Thanks for your interest in becoming GitLab Certified and for your patience as we’ve worked through this transition! We are in the final stage of implementing eCommerce on LevelUp and we’re working as quickly as we can to get everything up and running. This process has taken much longer than anticipated but we really appreciate your patience!
