We are running gitlab ee version 14.0.8 on RHEL 7.9.

Only just 45 mins ago was published 14.4.0. If you are going to upgrade, follow the upgrade docs and follow the upgrade path accordingly, as well as ensure background migrations have finished. Pretty much all the info can be found here: Upgrading GitLab | GitLab
