How to know end of life in gitlab for specific version

Hello all,

I want to check end of life(EOL) in gitlab for a specific version?

Thanks!

Hi @axil ,

I just want to know about 8.6.
is gitlab version 8.6 EOL (end of life) or still in use ?

Could you please help me on this.

Regards,
Akhilesh

Based on the Maintenance policy page, 8.6 would no longer be in use.

Our current policy is to support one stable release at any given time, but for medium-level security issues, we may backport security fixes to the previous two monthly releases.
For very serious security issues, there is precedent to backport security fixes to even more monthly releases of GitLab. This decision is made on a case-by-case basis.

Considering that 11.1 just came out, and the latest security update was for 11.1, 11.0, and 10.8, it is strongly recommended that you upgrade.

HI All,

Please provide the GitLab Community Edition [12.4.2] End of life and please suggest which version to we need to upgrade. What are the prerequisites foe specific version?

@balakrishna you should look at the Gitlab Upgrade docs here: Upgrading GitLab | GitLab

Pretty much all the info can be found there, see the side menu for further info related to upgrading via specific versions: Upgrade GitLab by using the GitLab package | GitLab since you are way behind and need to follow the upgrade path from my first link.

Also, after each upgrade, you will have to check and ensure that all background migrations have finished before continuing. There are plenty of posts already on the forum about it. Attempting to upgrade to the next version before background migrations have finished can cause your Gitlab install to break.

Since Gitlab as per here: GitLab release and maintenance policy | GitLab support only the last 3 monthly releases for security fixes etc, your version is already a long time EOL’d.
