Hi, unfortunately today I’ve lost my 2fa recovery keys and I cannot access my GitLab account. As I’m still logged with the cli utility I tried the ssh method but unfortunatelly it didn’t work as it gave ‘publickey’ and ‘keyboard-interaction’ permission denial. Isn’t there any way to get my account back? I have work resources that I must get back somehow and unfortunatelly I’m battling with this problem since hours now. My intention is to get my stuff back in general but getting my account back would be just great.
Search the forum please before posting:
So basically, if you want any support, you still have to log in to Gitlab. So how am I supposed to do that, when 2FA is borked. If they aren’t resetting 2FA for potentially paying accounts (I’ve not used mine in ages), then thanks anyway, I can use another service.
I think you need to read clearly what was posted. A link to opening a support ticket was given, which you do not need a login for to request user/account issues. So your comment above is wrong. If you were a potentially paying account I guess you would have had already paid.
Other results from the search I linked in your initial post here: Lost 2FA, Gitlab Access Impossible - #2 by iwalker also explain using SSH to generate new 2FA recovery codes yourself to be able to get into your account. But if you didn’t upload an SSH key to your account, then you cannot do that either. Which leaves you the option to open a support ticket.
Unfortunately, you only opened the first post from the search results that I gave and didn’t even read that properly or failed to understand it, and failed to read any of the others that would have given you all the answers you needed to solve it.
